Our Mission

The Wellhead Protection Committee is a citizen-led group dedicated to ensuring that water protection remains a top priority in Wayland's planning and decision-making processes. We work to educate the community, advocate for strong protective measures, and monitor threats to our water supply.

Our committee believes that safe, clean drinking water is a fundamental right and that protecting our water sources is essential for the health and well-being of current and future generations of Wayland residents.

Recent Accomplishments

PFAS Treatment System Implementation

2023

Successfully advocated for and oversaw the installation of granular activated carbon treatment system, achieving 99%+ PFAS removal efficiency.

Wellhead Protection Zone Updates

2022

Collaborated with town planning board to update and strengthen land use regulations in wellhead protection areas, preventing potentially harmful development.

Community Education Program Launch

Developed and launched comprehensive water education program, reaching over 500 residents through workshops, school presentations, and public events.
